Detailed description

Vacancy: volunteer educational support staff for the learning team

We are looking for a volunteer to help with the lessons of the learning team that deals with nature management. Do you want to give people a helping hand on their way to participating in the green or agricultural labor market? As a volunteer educational assistant, you are indispensable in the preparations and the smooth running of the lessons of the learning team.

About the learning team

There are many reasons why people need a helping hand on their way to participating in the green or agricultural labour market. Learning teams have been set up to offer these people a chance for a tailor-made education and work experience in the green sector. Participants in these learning teams follow a combination education at MBO level 1 or 2. The education consists of a practical and a theoretical part with a lot of attention for personal development. The students conclude the education programme with a diploma or certificates and are at that point fit for work, learning and diplomas.

PWN believes that everyone should be able to participate in the labor market. As a company that is at the heart of society, we want to make a significant contribution to this. Real work, work that is meaningful and structurally necessary, is the starting point. A good example is the learning team. In doing so, they learn what nature management involves, so that they are well prepared for a regular job in green management. That is very useful for PWN, but certainly also for themselves.

Your role as a volunteer

As a volunteer, you are indispensable in the preparation and smooth running of the lessons of the learning team. Every Friday you are present at the lesson location in National Park Zuid-Kennemerland to support the students and teachers. You enjoy contributing to the development of people with a slight work disability in this way. The activities are diverse and depend on the lesson subjects. Tasks can include: opening and starting up the lesson location, providing coffee/tea for the students and teachers, preparing tools and materials, transporting the students to practical locations in the dune area, and other manual and auxiliary services related to the practical lessons. The lessons are given by certified teachers, but your practical help adds a valuable contribution to this!

What do we ask:

  • Available on Fridays starting next school year, from September 15, 2024 (with the exception of school holidays and other timetable-free weeks). 35 Fridays are planned for the 2024/2025 school year.
  • Living in the area.
  • In possession of a B driving license and able to drive a van.
  • Affinity with the target group; young people, young adults and adults with a specific care or support need and the desire to be active in the labor market.
  • Being able to work well together.
  • In good physical condition.
  • Practical and proactive.
  • Enthusiastic about the field of nature, water and recreation.

What we offer:

  • Volunteer work with social involvement.
  • Workplace in the middle of nature.
  • Insurance during the work.
  • Expense allowance for costs incurred to participate in volunteer work, such as travel expenses.
  • Free dune annual card for the North Holland Dune Reserve.
  • Celebrations and attentions, including an annual volunteer outing and various volunteer evenings and information meetings.
  • A digital volunteer newsletter four times a year.
  • The opportunity to further educate yourself by participating in relevant training courses, for example from those offered by the ''Groene Academie''.
