Summary

Do you want to help us with the birds? We are looking for bird keepers!

Detailed description

As a bird caretaker, you and other volunteers clean the bird cages, so that our sick and injured birds can recover in a hygienic environment. Hygiene is also important for our volunteers, so we have fixed working methods that everyone adheres to. You will learn to carefully transfer injured or sick animals to another coop, offer appropriate food to various types of birds, and even feed some very weak birds individually. The administrator or an experienced volunteer will teach you all this. There is always someone around to help you or ask questions.

If you have acquired sufficient skill in careful handling, you may also occasionally help the manager with medical procedures. If you can handle even the very small birds with care, and are stress resistant enough, the caretaker may decide to let you participate in our 'baby room' where a team of experienced volunteers take over the role of the bird parents, and during the spring and summer feed the youngest.

No education or experience is required. If you are interested in birds you can learn a lot from us. In the fall and winter there is less work, then we teach you what to do, so that you are ready to really get started in the spring!

Every day we have two shifts that work part of the day of 4 to 4.5 hours. (Only during the spring and summer there is also an evening shift active in the nursery). You can opt for 1 or more fixed days per week.
