Detailed description
For years, De Hofstede has been a lively place to meet neighbors in Velserbroek. Every week, approximately 780 people (from the neighboring apartments, residents of Velserbroek, Santpoort, Driehuis, IJmuiden and even Haarlem-Noord) find us to participate in numerous activities such as billiards, klaverjassen, bridge, patchwork, jeu de boules, a variety of workshops, High Teas and the like, or they join in the meals that are provided on various days of the week. In addition, numerous events are organized, such as bingo afternoons, music performances, but also our annual Herring Party and Garden Barbecue.
Of course, none of this would be possible without a large number of volunteers (activity coordinators or people who provide Bar/Buffet services).
To strengthen our current enthusiastic volunteers, we are looking for people who would like to contribute part-time (for example in the mornings or afternoons) to this rewarding work.
If you, for example as a pensioner, still have time to spare or if you simply think it would be fun to be part of our group of volunteers in De Hofstede, then respond to this vacancy
About Stichting Wijk en Senioren Centrum De Hofstede
The aim is for De Hofstede to increasingly contribute to supporting the elderly to maintain their own control and to be able to continue living independently for as long as possible. Promoting social cohesion and strengthening cooperation between informal and formal care and welfare are important points of attention, with the motto: 'Care for each other and care with each other'.
The Community and Senior Center De Hofstede is connected to 151 senior homes of Velison Wonen. The residents of these homes, as well as users from the surrounding neighborhoods in Velserbroek and the coordinators/volunteers of the activities are the users of De Hofstede. Currently, approximately 780 people visit the Community and Senior Center every week, and are supported during activities and served in the center by approximately 70 volunteers.
