Detailed description
As a Community and Senior Center, “De Hofstede” offers the potential for a community and activity center for the elderly and residents of Velserbroek that partly builds on the current activity program, but that has also taken a new direction since January 1, 2024 in terms of a coherent and appealing offering for and by the elderly in De Hofstede and in the surrounding neighborhoods.
The aim is for De Hofstede to increasingly contribute to supporting the elderly to maintain their own control and to be able to continue living independently for as long as possible. Promoting social cohesion and strengthening cooperation between informal and formal care and welfare are important points of attention, with the motto: 'Care for each other and care with each other'
The Wijk en Senioren Centrum De Hofstede has 151 senior homes of Velison Wonen connected to it. The residents of these homes, as well as users from the neighborhoods around Velserbroek and the coordinators/volunteers of the activities are the users of the Hofstede. Currently, approximately 780 people visit the Wijk en Senioren Centrum every week, where they are supported during the activities and served in the center by approximately 70 volunteers.
Wanted: We are currently looking for new members for the Board of the Foundation. Do you have the time and desire to join the Board as a volunteer? Then sign up for an exploratory and informative interview. We prefer people who can join the secretariat and contribute to the process, or have a financial background to fill two vacancies within the Board.
