Summary

As a buddy you can mean a lot to someone. You will do fun activities together.

Detailed description

This can be anything from playing a game to a walk in the woods. These simple things can make a world of difference for our clients. The contact can be every week, but also once.

You will be linked to someone with an intellectual disability and/or autism-related disorder. This target audience can be a challenge for some people. To support you in this, we have a wide range of training courses, which you can participate in as a volunteer for free.

We are looking for someone who:

  • is interested in the other
  • can take initiative
  • can provide clarity
  • has patience and takes the time to build a relationship.

Day, time and frequency can be agreed upon in consultation.

What do you get in return?

  • unforgettable moments and a beautiful smile
  • you are part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers , professionals and trainees at STG/SIG.
  • support from STG/SIG
  • to attend training sessions free of charge.
  • a Christmas gift and annual drink for volunteers.

About STG

Everyone prefers to live independently at home. Sometimes that doesn't come naturally. A disability or chronic illness can make a situation untenable. STG wants to prevent that.

That is why we support people with disabilities and their carers at home. With the help of committed volunteers, children and adults can continue to live at home longer and participate in society.

With the efforts of volunteers, parents are relieved of the burden of caring for their child. We do this in several ways:
* by using a volunteer who does activities with the child
* because the child goes to a host family
* by organizing fun activities for brothers and sisters
* by bringing parents together in meetings

We focus on children and adults with a mental or physical disability, chronic illness, ADHD or autism.

STG is an accessible, small volunteer organization in the regions of Central and South Kennemerland.
