Summary
Do you bring fun and support to a family?Detailed description
As a family partner of STG you can mean a lot to an entire family.
STG regularly receives questions from parents with a child with a disability or from a family whose parents have a mild intellectual disability. They are then looking for extra support at home.
For example, think of:
support with homework,
extra hands during an afternoon after school or on weekends,
teaching (social) skills or
go to a sports club.
During the 1 on 1 contact you are at home with the family. Playing a game, having a chat or an activity outside……… Fun, simple and above all very grateful!
Because your activities with the child have an effect on the rest of the family.
The contact can be every week, but also once.
You will be linked to someone with an intellectual disability and/or autism-related disorder. Guidance takes place in the background by a family counselor and/or STG.
The target audience can be a challenge for some people. To support you in this, we have a wide range of training courses, which you can participate in as a volunteer for free.
We are looking for someone who:
is interested in the other
can take initiative
can provide clarity
· has patience and takes the time to build a contact.
Day, time and frequency can be agreed upon in consultation.
What do you get in return?
unforgettable moments and a beautiful smile
You are part of an enthusiastic team of volunteers , professionals and trainees at STG/SIG.
· support from STG/SIG
· being able to attend training sessions free of charge.
· a Christmas gift and annual drink for volunteers.
What we will provide to volunteers
🤝 Extra supportAbout STG
That is why we support people with disabilities and their carers at home. With the help of committed volunteers, children and adults can continue to live at home longer and participate in society.
With the efforts of volunteers, parents are relieved of the burden of caring for their child. We do this in several ways:
* by using a volunteer who does activities with the child
* because the child goes to a host family
* by organizing fun activities for brothers and sisters
* by bringing parents together in meetings
We focus on children and adults with a mental or physical disability, chronic illness, ADHD or autism.
STG is an accessible, small volunteer organization in the regions of Central and South Kennemerland.
