volunteer prevention region North Holland

Is it your mission to make people aware of risks in daily life and do you want to contribute to helping protect others? Then we are looking for you as our new prevention advisor in the North Holland region!

As a volunteer prevention educator, you prepare people for small and large emergencies such as fire, evacuation, falls, burglary and (internet) fraud. In a light-hearted atmosphere, various emergency situations are discussed and you give useful tips to ensure everyone's safety together.

By making people aware of risks in everyday life, you give them a new perspective on these risks and the tools and confidence to deal with the risks. Your impact here is invaluable; perhaps you are the reason that someone does not trip over the rug or fall for an internet chatter!

What are you going to do?

- Providing information, together with your fellow volunteer. You also prepare these information sessions together (there is already a format)

- Evaluating the information provided, so that knowledge can be exchanged and bottlenecks can be detected and addressed

We expect you to give at least six briefings per year. The briefings are usually given in the afternoons and sometimes in the evenings at various locations and last approximately two hours per briefing.

Who are you?

- You have strong communication skills and you have a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.

- You get energy from giving training and you can easily stand in front of a group

- Connecting is your strength, also with diverse target groups

The vacancy is open for the entire region of North Holland. The region of North Holland is Haarlem and surroundings, Alkmaar and surroundings, Hoorn and surroundings and Purmerend and surroundings. You will be placed in a pool of advisers and you will preferably be deployed in or close to your own place of residence.

What do we offer you?

As a volunteer, you contribute to the work of the Red Cross. That feels good! You get the chance to develop your talents because the Red Cross provides courses and/or training for the purpose of performing the function. The Red Cross reimburses travel and expenses incurred and ensures that you are insured during the performance of your work. At the Red Cross, we work according to the basic principles and our code of conduct.
