Do you want to make a difference in the lives of children and are you passionate about helping and protecting others? Then we are looking for you as our new First Aid for Children educator!

Through interactive lessons and engaging activities, we teach children first aid basics such as providing first aid for minor injuries and recognizing emergency situations.

By making children aware of risks and giving them the tools to take action, you give them the confidence and skills to save lives. Who knows, you might be the reason a child knows what to do at a crucial moment!

Together with the volunteers who provide the information, we ensure a world in which everyone, regardless of age, can act in emergency situations and save lives.

What are you going to do?

- Together with a colleague, you will give guest lessons on first aid basics to primary school children (groups 5 to 8); you will provide six or more guest lessons per year and each guest lesson lasts approximately 1.5 hours.

- You prepare your lessons and evaluate them afterwards; you report bottlenecks so that we can improve our lessons together

Who are you?

- You have strong communication skills and you have a good command of the Dutch language, both spoken and written.

- You are good at providing information, you enjoy being in front of a group of children and you are digitally skilled

- You have a first aid certificate or are willing to obtain one (at our expense)

- You are flexible on weekdays between 9:00 AM and 3:00 PM, because the guest lessons take place during school hours

The vacancy is open for the entire region of North Holland. The region of North Holland is Haarlem and surroundings, Alkmaar and surroundings, Hoorn and surroundings and Purmerend and surroundings. You will be placed in a pool of advisers and you will preferably be deployed in or close to your own place of residence.

What do we offer?

As a volunteer, you contribute to the work of the Red Cross. That feels good! You get the chance to develop your talents because the Red Cross provides courses and/or training for the purpose of performing the function. The Red Cross reimburses travel and expenses incurred and ensures that you are insured during the performance of your work. At the Red Cross, we work according to the basic principles and our code of conduct.
