Head of Emergency Response Team

If there are many victims in an incident, a Red Cross Emergency Response Team will come into action. The team sets off with flashing lights and sirens, so they can reach the scene of the incident within 45 minutes.

On site, the team coordinates with ambulance personnel what is needed and starts caring for slightly injured victims.

What are you going to do?

As Head of Emergency Response Team (NHT), you work under the responsibility of the Operational Emergency Response Team Leader (OTL) of the district.

You are the point of contact for all members of the Emergency Response Team and are responsible for maintaining a trained and motivated Emergency Response Team within the district. Further:

· You contribute to the operational implementation of the NHT's tasks

· Ensure optimal support of the team with regard to quality, preparedness and commitment;

· Participate operationally in the preparation, implementation and evaluation of exercises;

· Supervise the implementation of established procedures during deployments and exercises;

· In collaboration with the OTL, you ensure that there is a need for (psychosocial) aftercare;

· If necessary, are you present at the Red Cross Action Center during a deployment and coordinate at operational level with the Safety Region, Ambulance Service and other chain partners;

· Identify bottlenecks, contribute to a solution and scale up to the OTL if necessary.

· You are representative and can represent the organization at a tactical level

· You can take charge and dare to make decisions

· You are a connector who knows how to turn a group of people into a team.

· You have good communication skills and are able to enthuse and motivate the team

· You can assess situations well and improvise, determine priorities and implement them

· You have an affinity with disaster relief and are capable

· You have a flexible working environment, so that you can be deployed in an emergency, with permission from your employer

· Affinity with disaster relief;

· You are in possession of a driving license and live in the Kennemerland district;

· A Certificate of Good Conduct, which will be requested for you free of charge.

This position offers you the opportunity to do meaningful and responsible volunteer work. You can also gain relevant leadership experience in a crisis environment. In addition to the required training in advance, there is room for attending other training courses and meetings. A volunteer agreement will be concluded with you. You will receive compensation for travel costs and expenses and you are insured during your commitment to the Red Cross.
