Summary

Detailed description

Do you support people in their most vulnerable moments during traumatic events?

Every municipality in the Netherlands has the task of caring for its residents in the event of a disaster or crisis. The Red Cross has been appointed by the government to support municipalities in this. In addition to the military, the police, the fire brigade and the hospitals, the Population Care team is ready to provide assistance to affected people. For example, the team can help with the evacuation and shelter of residents after a fire or flood. The team is also ready to assist people after a tragic event. We provide population care on a large and small scale. Not all requests for assistance are urgent. For example, the team also helps with the temporary support of asylum seekers when starting up a crisis emergency shelter location. Schiphol is also part of the working area. The Red Cross regularly takes action here in the event of major disruptions and when travellers are stranded.

About us

Helping people in need around the corner – and far away, from our hearts and with our sleeves rolled up – that is what the Red Cross stands for.

We do this by increasing the resilience of people, so that they help themselves and others in emergency situations. In addition, we offer emergency aid and increase the helpfulness and willingness to help. The Red Cross helps in the Netherlands together with more than fourteen thousand volunteers by offering, among other things, Emergency Aid, Event Aid, First Aid (education) and Citizen Aid. We are the link in the field of self-reliance between the (local) care and safety domain.

When selecting the right candidate, the Red Cross is not guided by cultural background, physical limitations, gender identity, religious beliefs, orientation or age.

We do not appreciate acquisition.
