About Museum Kennemerland

Museum Kennemerland is the regional historical museum for Midden-Kennemerland, located in the former town hall of Wijk aan Zee en Duin in Beverwijk. Our collection offers a window on the rich history of the region, with special attention to themes such as archaeology, country estates, Velser pottery and the famous Kinheim carpets.

With changing exhibitions and various activities, we bring the story of the region to life for a wide audience, from young to old. In addition to the museum itself, we develop educational programs for schools and activities for residents of care institutions, creating a valuable connection with the community.

Museum Kennemerland relies entirely on the efforts of enthusiastic volunteers, who together contribute to the preservation of our local heritage. We regularly look for new team members who want to contribute to our mission to make history and culture accessible to everyone.
