Summary
People live on the Molenweid who really enjoy swimming once a week in the Heerenduinen in IJmuiden. Are you sporty and would you like to swim?Detailed description
Every Monday we go with a group of people from the Molenweid by bus to IJmuiden, the Heerenduinen for swimming.
What does this approximately look like?
Around 10 a.m. everyone from the guidance staff will be present and we will see if anyone needs help with packing their bag and making a sandwich.
At 11.00 we leave by bus for the swimming pool
Once in the changing room, some residents are helped to put on their swimwear
At 11.30 we go swimming. We stay in the section where everyone can stand. We sometimes play ball games, bubble in the hot tub and go swimming.
The swimming pool closes at 12.30 and we have lunch and coffee in the canteen.
We are back at the Molenweid about 1.30 pm.
We currently have 5 to 7 residents. It is possible to connect at the swimming pool itself instead of at the Molenweid.
Some experience with supporting the elderly is useful to have.
We are looking for an enthusiastic and sporty volunteer to support us. We are with 2 colleagues from the Molenweid but could still use a few more hands.
If you are interested, please contact us and we can tell you more about the activity. I can also arrange to come along without obligation to get a taste of how things are going.

About Molenweid
The house is spacious and has 2 beautiful gardens where we like to sit with the residents. It is important to us that residents can live as much as possible as they would at home. Everyone involved in the Molenweid is involved in designing meaningful activities for our residents on a daily basis.
We cook for our residents every day, often with the support of the residents themselves. Other regularly recurring activities are gymnastics, dancing, creative afternoon, live music, bus trips, singing, walking, duo cycling and more.
