Detailed description

At the Molenweid live 30 people with a faltering brain. They can really enjoy a good film or a documentary. We would like to start a film club!

The kind of films that people like to watch are either films that they know from the past, short documentaries about subjects that are familiar to them, Dutch feature films, music recordings (such as Andre Rieu but also other music) and possibly there is another type of film that is well received.

Many of our residents only speak Dutch and foreign-language films will be most popular if they are old favourites such as Sisi or the Sound of Music.

We are looking for a volunteer who wants to set this up with us and who enjoys leading this activity. Of course we will certainly help with this in the beginning and in between.

It would be nice to offer this structurally, for example once every 2 weeks on the same day and time. This can be decided in consultation.

If you become a volunteer with us, you will be guided by Aafje from welfare and activities. We find it important that you also feel at home as a volunteer at the Molenweid.

About Molenweid

De Molenweid is a small-scale residential community right next to the centre of Velserbroek. We have 30 elderly people with a disability in the area of dementia or physical complaints living with us.
The house is spacious and has 2 beautiful gardens where we like to sit with the residents. It is important to us that the residents can live as much as possible as they would at home. Everyone involved in De Molenweid is busy every day with creating meaningful activities for our residents.
We cook for our residents every day, often with support from the residents themselves. Other regularly recurring activities are gymnastics, dancing, creative afternoon, live music, bus trips, singing, walking, tandem cycling and much more.
