IVN Getting started on New Year's Eve at Beeckestijn!

A nice start to New Year's Eve! Roll up your sleeves for nature on New Year's Eve. The IVN Zuid-Kennemerland, in collaboration with Natuurmonumenten, is organizing a fun working day on Friday December 31 at the Beeckestijn country estate in Velsen. Participants in this working day will saw maples and cut out small maples. A day of working outside with a nice group of nature lovers to make nature a little more beautiful!

Beeckestijn is a beautiful historic country estate, which was founded in the 18th century on the dune edge in Kennemerland as a summer residence for Amsterdam regents. On this working day, the hands will be rolled up a lot. This nature work is necessary to make Beeckestijn a little more natural again. By sticking out and sawing maples, more light comes to the bottom and more room for variation. This gives oaks and hawthorns and plants as spring bloomers another chance. This will further improve biodiversity here.

To further increase the natural value of Beeckestijn, volunteers help with this maintenance work. Nature lovers who like to be involved in nature and who want to contribute to nature on Beeckestijn can just come. Together we make Beeckestijn more beautiful again. Bring your own work clothes, boots and bring your own coffee/tea. Everyone is welcome!

We provide tools, guidance and delicious pie with the coffee! Gathering for this fun working day on Friday 31 December is at 9.00 am at the entrance of Beeckestijn next to the parking lot. The working day lasts until 2 p.m.
